Prescription Charges

Charges from 1 April 2016.

At present the prescription charge is £8.40 per item.

The cost of a Prescription Payment Certificate (PPC) is £29.10 for a 3 month certificate and £104.00 for a 12 month certificate.


Repeat Prescriptions

Please return your repeat prescription slip, having ticked the items you require and your preferred chemist. If you wish the prescription to be posted to you please include a SAE. Unfortunately, our recesptionists are unable to accept prescription requests over the telephone. You need to allow two working days for your request to be processed.

Electronic Prescription Service

Anyone who does not pay for their prescriptions will be given 28 or 30 days supply of their repeat medication instead of the current 56, 60 or 84 day prescription to prevent medication being wasted.

Patients who do not pay for their medication are:

  • People aged 60 and over
  • Patients who have diabeties
  • Patients taking Thyroxine
  • Patients who have epilepsy
  • Children under 16 years of age
